It's finally here! The Elvish audiobook is out and I'm so excited to share it with you guys!
During the production process, the team at Tantor Media asked whether I'd like a male or female voice actor to portray my characters. For me, the answer was obvious -- I wanted a guy. Despite the fact that Elvish is written as a split point-of-view between Venick and Ellina, I've always seen this as Venick's story. Maybe it's because when the idea for Elvish first came to me, it was Venick whom I saw most clearly. Or maybe it's just plain ol' author bias (I really do have such a soft spot for him). Whatever the reason, I'm so pleased with how Daniel Thomas May narrated the book and I can't wait for you to listen, too!
You can find the Elvish audiobook at these retailers:
It's March! I've been DEEP in Elder work and edits, so first thing's first - for those of you (patiently) waiting on the first three chapters of Elder, you can expect those in your inbox soon :)
We have an audiobook release date! Elvish will be available as an audiobook on April 9. The very talented Daniel Thomas May (you might remember him from The Walking Dead!?) is narrating the book and I can't imagine anyone better for the job. That's coming up soon, so stay tuned!
My interview for "Bestselling Author Secrets" is going live in just a few days! If you're an aspiring author, you won't want to miss this. There are so many amazing writers who are sharing their advice on how they became bestsellers, and I'm excited and honored to have been included. The summit begins on March 11th and my talk with Sara Connell airs on March 14th. Joining the summit is free and everything is online. You can register for that here!
Last, I have some giveaway info! I often like to partner with fellow authors to give away excerpts (or sometimes full books) to readers. I'm currently part of several giveaways, so I'll link to them below. You should check them out!

Also as an unrelated sidenote, I just chopped all my hair off. It feels soooo different (I've never had my hair this short) but I'm glad I finally did it. One of my friends saw me and said, "You look like such an author!" There's a video in my Instagram stories for the next few hours (until I get real pictures taken) if you want to see ;)
Alright, that's all for now. Be good to each other and as always, happy reading!
More exciting book news! I've officially signed an audiobook deal with Tantor Media, meaning Elvish will soon be coming to you on Audible / Google Play / iTunes / all the others! I'll keep you updated on the timeline for this, but it's looking like the audiobook will be releasing by the end of this year. Hooray!
We have a new map! Since we'll be exploring more of the mainlands in book two, I thought it'd be a good time to update the original map with a more detailed full color version. You can also see the map in high resolution on the Elvish book page!
Guys! I've been BUSY. The sequel to Elvish is up on Goodreads and I've officially announced the title (see the original post about that here!). I've started talking cover art with my designers. I've maybe (maybe!?) got some news coming up about the Elvish audiobook. I'm knee-deep in Elder edits, and am rushing to get the promised first three chapters out to readers. I was just interviewed for Authority Magazine and Thrive Global, and they've asked to feature me in their upcoming bestseller author summit (where I'll be sharing advice for all my author-hopefuls out there!). NO, I'm not sleeping. It's okay. I'll get around to that later. *hysterical laughter* *sobs into hands*
Big news, friends! Today I'm sharing more details about Elvish, starting with book two in the series:
1. We have a title! The second installment in the Elvish series is officially here, and it will be called Elder.
I've been eagerly anticipating this announcement, because it's a big step in the writing process: choosing a title and then committing to it. One-word titles are tough, because they have to encompass the entire book in, well, a single word. Luckily, Elder couldn't have been a more perfect match. (Plus, it's another e-word to fit the theme. These things do matter).
2. We have a back cover blurb! You can read the blurb for Elder on Goodreads. (And you can add it to your to-read shelf while you're at it!).
Again, I've been looking forward to sharing more details about book two with you guys, and I'm so excited to announce that you can now read the back cover blurb for Elder on Goodreads. I hope the blurb gives you a little peek into what you can expect for the second book in the series, which I'm striving to make even more daring/heart-wrenching/compelling than the first.
3. Elvish will officially be a trilogy!
I've been hesitant to announce this, since my books tend to write themselves and therefore are out of my control. I couldn't be sure how many books this series would encompass (two? three? four!?) until recently, simply because I didn't know how many words it would take to finish telling the story.
From a reader's point of view, I understand how odd this might sound. As an author, however, it's fairly intuitive. I know how Venick and Ellina's story ends, but how many pages will it take to write it? If I could finish the story in, say, less than 100,000 words, the series would work nicely as a duology. However, it's clear to me that I'll need another 250,000+ words to finish out the series, which means that YES, there will be a total of three books in the Elvish Trilogy.
4. We have another title!
The third and final installment in the Elvish Trilogy will be called Ember. Rather than keep this a secret, I'm sharing it early as a thank you to all you guys for reading along and just generally being awesome.
Whelp, that's all for now. Happy New Year. Happy reading. Happy everything.
